It only took a week to get back into quilting mode after my vacation. Hey, I needed a vacation after my vacation. What's wrong with that?!?! But I'm back; and in full force. I've been a quilting mad woman for the past several days...well, when I wasn't working anyway. Those pesky jobs sure get in the way sometimes, don't they?
I managed to get half of the PB&J quilt top done. I really should have finished this one by now, but my self-diagnosed Adult ADD has kept me from being able to focus solely on this quilt for ages. And in all honesty, it's probably going to get bumped to the back of the line until after the holidays unless there is some sort of quilting miracle. Can you say "over-committed? Because that's what I am, at least until the end of the year. Oh well, I can't complain. I did it to myself!
My BFF's UGA Bulldogs quilt has been basted and I started the quilting yesterday. I'm hoping to get this finished in the next couple of days so I can finish up her husband's Buffalo Bills quilt and get them sent out. They are getting their Christmas presents early this year so they can enjoy them during football season. They are as fanatic about football as me and Hubs.
Finally, I got most of the cutting done for the Riley Blake Challenge hosted by the Modern Quilt Guild. Riley Blake sent each of the participants six fat eighths to play with. The best part? The only rules are that the project must be quilted and that any additional prints used must be Riley Blake. In addition to what was sent, I added a few more Hipsters prints, one from the Mystique line and one solid from a MODA line that I cannot remember the name of right now. Cabbages and Roses, I think. Oh, and the binding, from RB's Chevrons. I can't wait to get started on this..after I finish the football quilts of course.
My challenge project isn't due until sometime in December, so I probably need to put in a little work on my grandmother's quilt, which I have successfully managed to ignore since last week because I'm intimidated by the thought of cutting into it. The thought of cutting into that beauty makes me want to bypass the wine and go straight for the vodka martinis. You can read more about my grandparents wedding quilt here.
