First, let me start off with a recap of my very scary morning....
That awful moment when you stumble out of bed and head to the kitchen only to realize you have no more K-cups. EEK!
How the heck did I let that happen???
I hurried to the fridge to see if there was any Diet Coke left. Of course not. I'm trying to give that
sh- poison up! Panic start to set in, jarring me out of my zombie-like pre-caffeine fog.
How am I going to function without my caffeine fix?
I could get showered up and head to Starbucks.. but that would interfere with the whole "lazy day off" thing I had planned for the day. It IS my day off, after all.
OMG, is that a caffeine withdrawal headache already?!?! What if I just throw on a ball cap and roll up to the Biscuitville drive thru up right up the road? Again, this would require leaving the house.
But wait.......a brief glow of clarity suddenly peeked through my panic riddled brain.
I made a caramel latte bundt cake awhile back. That recipe calls for instant espresso!
I opened the freezer and a choir of angels sang out in joy...
A jar of instant espresso sat on the top shelf beckoning to me.
And yes, I drank it. 2 mugs of instant espresso. Was it good? Hell no! Did it do the job? Hell yes!
All is now good in my world.
OK. My scary morning recap is now complete. Let's move on to the quilty goodness...
I only worked on two projects this week. The Bulldawgs quilt and the plus sign quilt.
I've been chain piecing the sashing to the UGA blocks and have started assembling the rows. This quilt top is coming so together quickly!
I managed to get one row sewn together before quitting to go make dinner last night. I should finish piecing the top this morning.. just depends on whether I hit the sewing room or the treadmill first. After 3 cups of espresso, it's probably going to be the treadmill.. (Yeah, I went back for more.)
The plus sign quilt is done. Well, I've got to double check it for threads, but in my book once the binding is on, it's finished. I'm saving it for Friday's post since I haven't had a chance to get pics of the whole quilt yet; but here is a sneak peak of the label and the binding.
One last thing....if you like coffee and caramel. Make that cake. It's so good, not only will you want to slap your Mama, you'll want to slap yourself!
